All officers, board and committee members are volunteers, and receive no remuneration for their service.
Commodore
Performs the functions of the chief executive officer of the Club. He or
she will preside at meetings of the Board of Governors and of members,
appoint committees, conduct general management of the Club's business,
and see that all orders of the Board are carried into effect. Is a member of Board of
Governors. Also will be, ex officio, a member of the Board of Governors,
for the two years succeeding his/her term as Commodore. Must maintain a boat at Bayview Marina.
Vice Commodore
Will be an assistant to the Commodore and have such other authority and
duties as the Commodore may delegate. In the event of the
Commodore’s absence, he or she will act in the Commodore's stead, with
the same authority as the latter. Is a member of the Board of
Governors, and a direct liaison between members and the Board. Must
maintain a boat at Bayview Marina.
Rear Commodore
Will be an assistant to the Commodore and have such other authority and
duties as the Commodore may delegate. In the event of the
Commodore’s absence, he or she will act in the Vice Commodore's stead,
with the same authority as the latter. Is a member of the Board of
Governors. Must
maintain a boat at Bayview Marina.
Secretary
Will attend all meetings of the Board and members, and record all votes
and minutes of all proceedings, in a book to be kept for that purpose.
He or she shall give, or cause to be given, notices of meetings and club
events. Must maintain a boat at Bayview Marina.
Treasurer
Will have custody of the Club's funds. He or she will deposit all
money and checks, and disperse funds of the Club, as ordered by the
Board. Must keep full and accurate accounts of receipts and
disbursements, in books belonging to the Club. Must maintain a
boat at Bayview Marina.
Governors (four elected positions)
Will be members of the Board of Governors and fleet officers of the
Club. They will work with the flag officers, presenting ideas, and
helping to conduct, manage, and direct the business of the Club.
Social Committee (two to six positions available,
officially appointed by Commodore)
Will work together to arrange Club events. Will be in overall
charge of Club social events, and the liaison between members and the
Board, for the purpose of planning and promoting social events.
They work with the Board and other committee members to see to the
success of Club events.
