(Letter from Linda Redmond, dated 6/11/07)
Commodore Lizzard, BBC Board, and Members
This note is to let you know how very touched and emotionally moved that Chris (The Redman) and I were with the tribute that you posted on the BBC website regarding the sale of the Linda Gail II. Of course, Chris has owned a boat since he was 13 years old and his Mother, Ione, took Chris and his boat to the lake in Austin as he did not yet have a driver's permit. In fact, only 2 years during his early years of being a Father did he NOT have a boat on Lake Ray Hubbard. Then, as soon as the girls (in his opinion) were old enough to get their feet wet, he brought his family back to Lake Ray Hubbard with him to enjoy his passion of boating. His girls were very small when he had them zipping around the lake on a jet ski...and, of course many years later, I met Chris and his girls, Ashley and Morgan, in the middle of the lake during a visit with family. Did you know that his friends arranged to have one of his boats delivered to the lake (to his surprise) with the name Aggitator on it??...enough said.....things haven't changed much, have they???....except the players...God, bless them...Dick & Jayroe....And Momma D is still "on watch" after all these wonderful years on Lake Ray Hubbard....she certainly is the one who has seen it all and has known all the players from Captain's Cove to Bayview... and what all of the aka's for Chris really mean... Redman, 80/20, and Killowatt. What to do with our weekends has been difficult. Gone are the days or nights of going to the lake to work on the boat, clean the boat, check on the boat after time away from home or for Redman, after a beloved storm, or just because we need a 'boat fix'. And, of course, you have to remember.... (BOAT: Break Out Another Thousand!!) ...the ONLY thing that we don't miss!! And then there is Moet (the founding member of the Dog Dock Club) she just doesn't know what is going on ....with the boat and dock not being on 'her guard' on the weekends, after all, she was purchased in the Brookshires' parking lot in Rowlett almost 11 years ago and went non-stop to the lake with us... and we have pictures of her paws as they touched the lake at the beach that day... and before Moet... you have to know that Chris had another Golden Retriever that rode on his jet ski beside his feet while he terrorized everyone.
So, the question remains....will there be a Linda Gail III on the horizon???... will you see her way out there near the beach or the power plant??.....not sure...Will there be a Linda Gail III??? I would make a sure bet on that... where will you see her???.... now, that is a question that can only be answered by The Redman. We would like to thank our friends who have been so wonderful to offer us a ride anytime on their boats… and letting us know where their keys are in case we are on the dock and need a close facility...now that is the kind of friends that we all share on the Lake Ray Hubbard...just know that we miss you all, too!!....more than you could possibly know... honestly!!!
Chris, aka Redman, Linda Gail, & Moet Redmond....on the side....
