In an extraordinary gesture of generosity,
Stephen Bull, formerly from M-dock and now at Chandlers Landing, has
donated a 1988 28 foot Wellcraft Antigua,
to be
raffled off, to benefit Tom and Roxie
Madison. The boat is in fairly good condition but needs some work, as
most boats do. It has a full galley and head, working A/C, and sleeps
six in the front and rear berths. It has a single outdrive with a
large-block 454 engine. Tom and Roxie lost their 43 foot Burns Craft houseboat, on July 2, after an explosion and intense fire. The boat was gutted and sank. Adding to the misfortune, they were in the process of changing insurance companies, and their insurance was not in force. They are retired and spent most of their time on the boat, so most of their personal belongings were lost with the boat. Fortunately, no one was injured. |
The Wellcraft boat can be viewed at Bayview Marina on Lake Ray Hubbard in slip 1339 on M-dock. Contact John Miller at 214-244-8149 or email johnmiller0412@gmail.com for questions and/or to view boat.
Raffle tickets may be purchased for $20 each, 6 for $100, or 13 for $200 from John Miller in slip 1330 or from any of the raffle coordinators. If the minimum of $2,500 in ticket sales is not met, all money will be refunded. All raffle coordinators will be held accountable for all tickets and proceeds. It is very important that we have your contact information. It should be legibly written on the matching ticket number kept by our coordinators. Even if you win and decide you don’t really want the boat, your winning ticket could be sold for a quick profit to any of several seriously interested persons who should be present at the drawing.
The drawing (or refund) will be held on Saturday, August 14th, following a Spaghetti Dinner at 7pm, on M Dock. You do not have to be present to win. Your raffle ticket admits you to the dinner, or you may make a $2 donation. Expect anything and please BYOB.
This great little boat has full galley and head, front and rear sleeping quarters and will sleep 6:
