Time and Location:
The boats will form a line, outside the north entrance to Bayview Marina. The parade will start moving at about 6:00 PM.
Bayview Marina: The parade will come through the north entrance, at about 6:00 PM, turn south, along the inside of the breakwater, then exit from the south opening in the breakwater.
The Harbor in Rockwall: The boats will pass by, south to north, at about 6:15 PM.
The parade will then turn and travel west, along the I-30 bridge, and arrive back at Bayview Marina at about 6:30 PM.

Spectators, take note: Times are estimates. Please arrive early, and dress appropriately warm.

Details:
Bayview Boat Club's annual Christmas 'Parade of Lights' on Lake Ray Hubbard is one of our favorite traditions, fun and memorable for both participants and spectators. Decorated and lighted boats from Bayview Marina parade around the lake, in a festive holiday flotilla.
The designated lead boat will take up a position near the north entrance to Bayview Marina, and the other boats will line up behind. At 6:00 PM, the parade will begin, with the boats passing slowly through the marina, north to south, inside the breakwater. The parade line will leave the south exit in the breakwater, and travel to the south end of The Harbor in Rockwall. The parade line will turn north and slowly pass The Harbor in Rockwall. Then, it's west, along the bridge, back towards Bayview Marina. After passing the bridge, the boats will continue on, into the north entrance of the marina, to dock.

(Because of the lower lake level, this year we are skipping our usual pass by (or through) Chandler's Landing Marina. Also, at The Harbor, we will stay just outside the buoys, staying back from the now shallow areas closer to the wall and docks.)

Boats will be judged, and trophies and prizes presented, for Best Decorated Boat, in four categories: large, small (under 27'), houseboat and sailboat.

Participants:
There is no entry fee, and we invite and encourage all boat owners to participate. To be eligible for an award, we do ask that you register and receive a number (so that the judges can identify your boat).

Use creativity, imagination, energy, and your holiday spirit, as you decorate your boat with props, streamers, loud music, costumed crew, or whatever. But remember that it's a night parade, so lights are the main emphasis. And don't forget to invite friends and family to ride along, and wave to the cheering crowd!
Smaller boats, without a generator, may wish to acquire a portable power inverter, to convert the 12 volts from the battery/alternator to 120 volt AC.

Participants should come and register/check-in at the Bayview 'K' Dock pavilion, between 4:00 - 5:00 PM. You will receive printed instructions, info on any late changes, and your number to affix to your starboard side. You may download and fill out the registration form, ahead, to save time.
The parade begins at 6:00, so plan on going out a little earlier, to form up in a line.

Christmas Party:
After the parade, the Bayview Boat Club will hold our annual Christmas Party at the 'K' Dock pavilion, beginning around 7:00 PM. Paraders will come join the party, after they return and tie up.
Awards will be presented at the party.
