Event Wrap-up: The threatened storms stayed away, and left left us a perfect evening for Bayview Boat Club's 15th Season Kick-off Party and Membership Drive. Many scores of guests arrived through the Weekends entrance, then out onto the Cabana porch, and the Texas Queen, recently moored, alongside. We Signing Formshad over 40 new or renewed membership sign-ups, at the Registration table. Jerry Rice, with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, also set up a table, where he answered questions and provided information about safe boating classes and free vessel safety checks.

Weekends Restaurant and Bayview Marina, our hosts, provided the complimentary burger buffet, keg beer and wine, enjoyed by our guests, as well as the music DJ, who set up on the Queen.

After an hour or so of signing up members, eating and drinking, socializing and music, it was time to honor a couple of special Bayview people. Two decorated cakes were delivered from Weekends, out to the Queen, and we all joined in singing 'Happy Birthday' and congratulating our beloved Deloris "Mama Dee" Sanders and "Mr. Fred" (94 years!). Then, whoa, those two started gettin' down, and gettin' jiggy on the dance floor. Commodore Larry couldn't keep up!Happy Birthday Mama Dee and Mr Fred

We all had a lot of fun, and we're off to a successful start on another new season of events. Thanks to all who attended, and those that helped with the event.

We wish to offer special thanks to our hosts, Bayview Marina and Weekends (by which I really mean, Jim Rosenberg and his staff), who generously provided the venue, music, food, drinks and service. Additionally, they printed and mailed our flyer to everyone with a slip at our marina.
Julie and JimOur club always begins the year "poor". Jim has helped us get a good start on the year, by hosting and funding our membership drive parties - not just this year, but whenever he's been asked, back the the Club's beginning. He also helps us out, often "behind the scenes", many other times through the year. As we begin our 15th year at Bayview, we wish to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude for Jim's long history of being a friend and generous supporter of the Bayview Boat Club, and its activities and projects.
