'Feliz
Navi-Dock'

Annual
Bayview Boat Club
Christmas Party

Saturday, December 5, 2009, 8:00 PM

Location: At the 'N' Dock pavilion, Bayview Marina,
after the 'Parade of Lights' Boat Parade.

Event Wrap-up:
This year, high winds blew all day, and continued after sunset. The chop and chill forced us to cancel our Parade,... but it takes a lot more than that to stop a party on 'N' Dock!

The decorated pavilion was somewhat protected against the whipping wind by a collection of tarps. With the Parade called off, folks started gathering early, and milled around the scattered heaters and fire pits, while our hosts finished preparing food for the fajita and Mexican food buffet. A keg of cold beer was up and ready, but most focused on the hot buttered rum, spiced cider and cranberry juice, to help ward off the cold. DJ Jake Bays set up a little early, and quickly had 'em dancing (to keep warm!), with an assortment of music, including some holiday favorites and even a few karaoke performances thrown in.

Finally (and, a little earlier than originally scheduled), the feast was laid out. And there was much rejoicing! The partiers lined up and loaded plates with beef and chicken fajitas, rice and beans, guacamole and salsa - the works - then returned for holiday desserts.

With bellies full and warm, the music was paused to present awards to the winners of the Best Decorated Boats, and Best Decorated Docks (listed here). Then the music and festive fellowship was back on, and the hardy partiers continued for hours, on the pavilion and down the dock, even as the winds picked up and the temperature dropped.

Santa Ron and Denise
"Ho, ho, Denise,... just you remember to leave ol' Santa a plate of cookies and a tumbler of daddy's best single malt."

On behalf of everyone at the party, our special thanks to the "N Dock Gang" - organizer Leatta, fajita chef Scott, DJ Jake, and the rest - for all the hard work, planning and hosting our annual Bayview Boat Club Christmas Party. Superior job, guys! Thanks to our judges, who walked the docks in the bitter cold winds, carefully scoring boats and docks, for the awards.
And finally, on behalf of Deloris "Mama Dee" Sanders and "Little John" Lambert, thanks to those who remembered to brings toys for the WFAA Santa's Helpers Toy Drive, our traditional Christmas charity for many years, now. God bless you, every one!
