Location: After the Boat Parade, at the 'E' Dock pavilion, at Bayview Marina
Details:
We enjoyed perfect conditions for the 'Parade of Lights',
again, this year - cool (not cold) and the lake was like glass,
beautifully reflecting the colorful lights.
After the boats
returned and were secure in their slips, it was time to
mosey on down to the Bayview Boat Club "Snowflakes on the Lake"
Christmas Party.
The 'E' Dock pavilion was hung with tarps, against the cold, and
decorated with lights and white, blue and crystal snowflakes.
Southern Spur played a mix of classic country and
Christmas songs - and even turned a bit rockabilly, toward the end. Jeannie
Miller whipped up another batch of her special Italian sausage pasta
sauce, and party-goers feasted on spaghetti, chili and a variety of
appetizers, treats and desserts. The drink table featured homemade egg nog, wassail (a spiced cider
brew), hot buttered rum and cocoa (along with assorted bottles of "cheer").
Trophies were presented for the Best Decorated, and then a drawing was held, to give away a number of prizes, including turkeys, liquor gift sets, a blanket, and dinner certificates, generously donated by Dodie's and Blue Canyon restaurants (Thanks!).

Best Decorated Slip: M1330 (John and Jeannie)
Our thanks to Commodore John and Jeannie Miller, and their too-few helpers, for the hard work of putting together the parade and party. Thanks to everyone who decorated their slips and helped decorate their docks, for us all to enjoy. Thanks to Don Riggs for publicizing the parade at The Harbor, and arranging the donated prizes from the restaurants. Thanks to those who brought food to share at the party. Oh, and thanks for the toys...
Once again, we collected for the
WFAA Santa's
Helpers
Toy Drive, on behalf of Deloris "Mama Dee" Sanders
and John "Little John" Lambert.
We received a notably better "haul" than last year
- the best in years, Deloris believes. God bless
everyone who donated toys, especially in these challenging economic times.
Your generosity will help a number of children enjoy a better, brighter
Christmas morning!
