Planning hosts (and
life-members) Gary
and Marilyn Kay Dobson are treating us to a revival of an old favorite from
days gone by - a Toga Party by the Pool!
We'll have music DJ'd by Jake Bays, as we glut ourselves on a gastronomic Roman orgy of smoked brisket and beer-butt chicken, along with keg beer and "vino", soda and bottled water.
We'll have a contest for Best Dressed,... and maybe even a game or two.
We'll hold a Roman slave auction of the Bayview Boat Club Board members, to benefit our activity fund. Bring a little cash for the bidding, and for 30 minutes, Commodore Larry Nelson (or another officer) is your servant, keeping your cup filled, feeding you grapes,... whatever.
Togas
are not required, but, hey, we hope most everyone will get in the
spirit. You can go for the traditional look of white and gold trim. Or,
get more exotic, and drape yourself in colorful folds of fabric. Or, you
can just go "frat", and wrap up in an old stained bed sheet (yikes).
Don't forget to accessorize! Need some help? Google "how
to make a toga". And, a bathing suit under your toga... alas, probably a good idea.
Members, please bring a side dish, salad or dessert to fill out
our feast.
Guests or visitors may attend for $10/person one-day membership dues.
