5/1/09 - Membership Drive Success!
Hey gang!
Ils sont partis! (French translation: They are on their way)
What a great start to a fantastic season. I was unable to meet with many of you because I was up on stage making noise and embarrassing my wife. Never fear, the Blessing of the Fleet is on it's way in just a few short weeks. Be sure to watch the website for updates and monitor your email accounts for more information from Brian and Mark.
Speaking of my boat club team, I want to send an ultra hyper thanks to the following for making our membership drive a total success:
Brian "Lizard" Dusek (Officer and past commodore) - Brian is a wealth of knowledge that helps guide us through the setting up and planning of our events. Thank you for your experience and the efforts put into making this happen. Brian also coordinated the adult beverages so you know he is a popular one. ;)
Mark James (Vice Commodore, my mentor) - Mark handled all communications and was instrumental in the setup and tear down of the party. There is a ton of work that goes into each event and Mark takes a huge amount of responsibility and organization on himself to make it happen. He is responsible for the sponsors that we have and never stops working to make sure this club is a hit. Thank you sir.
Richard Dalby (Treasurer) - Wow. What can I say? Thank you for coordinating the food, kid friendly beverages, miscellaneous items needed to complete the event, working so hard on the party setup/tear down and signing up our newest members.
Kathy Dalby (Secretary) - You rock young lady. Thank you for all the work on keeping our records straight, signing up members and all efforts that went into setting up the party. Not easy with a hectic schedule.
Karen, Willard and Rowdy - Your talents on the BBQ grill continue to delight the delicate taste buds of our distinguished members. Burger love! Special thanks to Rowdy for keeping tabs on crowd control.
Well guys, that's all I have for now. Please stay up on the schedule because we have a ton of fun coming your way this season. Be safe, don't drink and drive, always have enough life preservers on-board and  I'll see you at the Blessing of the Fleet.

3/4/09 - Queasy Like Sunday Morning

Greetings and Salutations, BBC!

Was anyone else a little tired Sunday morning? A massive *Thanks* goes out to Brian “Lizard” Dusek, Richard/Kathy Dalby and all who were involved for throwing a smokin’ Commodores Ball.

Luckily, I provided Kim Hanna with many opportunities to capture pictures of yours truly in utterly ridiculous poses, so no telling where those will pop up to haunt me. I’m sure it will be a proud moment in my mom's life, but sometimes you just have to party. Certainly she will understand.

Folks, do we have a cool thing going here or what? If you can’t tell, I’m excited. Very excited.

The officers are already hard at work on planning some very special events including old favorites and some new ideas that are sure to keep you entertained.

Welcome to Summer ’09, gang! It’s going to be a wild one.
